We are offering a beautiful bas-relief reproduction of your city seal to decorate your commission or council chamber, mayor's or city manager's office, lobbies or any room of importance. Also, the plaques are used for outside building walls and city limit markers. A work of art - not stamped-out and mass produced.

HOW IT IS DONE:

The submitted drawing is hand enlarged to the plaque size and the image is transferred onto a clay bed. Meticulous carving in three dimension follows and the finest mold material is used to preserve the hand made character. After the seal is completed, the mold will be stored. This is the reason why we are able to offer re-orders of the same size plaque for a discount. All wall plaques are shipped carefully packed in wooden boxes and guaranteed.

INTERIOR:

The plaque is cast in rock-hard reinforced material (not plastic or plaster) and personally hand painted, signed and numbered. To emphasize the fine detail of the projected design, the plaque is not painted solid but highlighted in different values of either metallic gold or silver.

EXTERIOR:

For outside mounting, polyester resin reinforced with thermolite (natural stone filler) is used as a base and covered with a cold cast coating consisting of pulverized genuine metal fused to the base with bonding liquid available in bronze, brass or aluminum. The rough plaque is sanded, hand rubbed and polished. The metal is treated with an application of anti-tarnishing hot wax and then sealed with protective acrylic based lacquer. This treatment protects the surface against harmful atmospheric elements and fast altering of the finish. However, bronze and brass will change in time which is a characteristic of these metals. The aging of the metal is often desired, but if you prefer, a rubbing of medium coarse steel wool will restore the original luster. As an additional feature, the background can be painted black with special outdoor paint (the same is used on cemetery plaques or markers), for better readability without additional cost. SPECIFICATIONS:

The wall plaques are available in various sizes made for your display requirements (see price list). The interior plaques are wired and ready to hang. Exterior plaques have four 3/8" by 2" carriage bolts embedded into the plaque and suggested mounting instructions are furnished.
